Oregon State Police report a truck driver died in a collision with another tractor-trailer near the site of the 60-vehicle pileup on Interstate 5 Wednesday.
The crash happened at about 2:10 p.m. on I-5 near mile marker 219. OSP said a Freightliner was stopped in the slow lane due to a huge pileup that occurred in heavy fog Wednesday morning. A second Freightliner was southbound when it collided with the stopped semi and caught fire.

The driver of the second Freightliner was identified by the police as Kirpal Singh, 63, of Yuba City, California. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The original series of collisions occurred at about 8 a.m. Wednesday in heavy fog. OSP reported between 15 and 20 commercial motor vehicles were involved in that pileup. One person, still unidentified, died in that mishap.
